Happy New Year! & what 2017 holds for the world of media / tech

We wish all Hackers.Media readers a happy and prosperous New Year.

And for all of you wandering what the next 12 months has in store for the world of media and media tech, rather than write out our own predictions we thought we would recirculate this most interesting set of media insights published in the last quarter by Michael Wolf (ex Yahoo & MTV) and his Activate team.

There's lots of juicy data and insights in his 170+ page report, but TL;DR for media execs is: subscriptions are the future revenue engine for content companies, and messaging services are the main battle ground for distribution.  Oh, and the media industry isn't going to die, but outpace GDP growth . . .
